Happy New Year from all of us at Veritas! We hope this note finds you and your family well and in good health. We wanted to provide an early heads up that you will be receiving an email from our affiliated registered investment advisor, Stratos Wealth Partners, sometime next week. You may remember the name as they have supported us from day 1 with all our compliance and regulatory requirements associated with the SEC and our role as your Fiduciary.
The purpose of the email and outreach is to make sure your client agreements on file with us are updated properly, and we need your help. This update in no way changes your relationship with us at Veritas and Stratos, and with no change to annual fees or our commitment to delivering comprehensive wealth management advice and management. Again, we simply need to update your client agreements.
There are several reasons why this update is important. First, the agreement has not been updated in many years and as a result of changes in technology, regulations, and industry best practices, new language is needed. Some examples of these changes are:
• Simplified and streamlined legal terms and conditions;
• Making it easier to add an advisor on an account or appoint a new sub-advisor; and
• Making the agreement amendable on 30-days’ notice to clients, rather than requiring a written signature for each change.
Second, the volume of pages will be greatly reduced, and we are implementing technology that will reduce duplication of data gathering going forward. Finally, Stratos plans to bring on a new institutional partner in 2025 and this updated document will allow for a smooth transition in that regard.
We believe this is straightforward process and kindly ask for you to complete your updated agreements at your earliest convenience. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to give us a call or send us an email and we will follow up immediately.
